Engraving by the noted French artist Jacque David, and hand-coloring by Jacomet at the Institute de France in Paris in 1987. A limited edition of 300 double elephant folio prints (29 1/2" x 40 1/2") were printed on heavy watermarked BFK Rives 100% cotton rag paper. The credit to Audubon is at lower left. The bottom right side shows credits to Jacomet (colorist) and Jacque David (the engraver). The original Havell edition Wild Turkey could cost between $150,000 to $200,000. Thus this French edition is an attractive but a much less expensive alternative in owning a hand-colored double elephant folio print of the Wild Turkey Male image by Audubon.
