Audubon Wild Turkey Engraving - French Edition
In 1987, the noted French artist Jacque David at the Institute de France in Paris decided to reproduce some of the birds from Audubon's Birds of America with new copper plate engravings. He selected the Wild Turkey (Male), the Louisiana Heron, and the Bird of Washington to prepare copper plate engravings. The hand-coloring was done by Jacomet. Only a total of 300 copies were printed for each of these birds. These copper plate engravings are known as the Institute de France Edition. We have below the Wild Turkey (Male) copperplate engraving.
